Open-source reel-to-reel tape emulation from Chowdhury DSP with deep control over tape saturation, wow, flutter, and playhead loss.

CHOW Tape Model is a physical model of an analog tape machine, originally based on the Sony TC-260 and grown into a general-purpose tape emulation. Beyond saturation it exposes wow and flutter, loss filtering, degradation, and chew controls, so it covers everything from subtle glue to broken lo-fi textures. It is GPLv3 open source, free, 64-bit, and ships installers for Windows, macOS, and Linux from the chowdsp site (built from the GitHub releases).
