A free experimental room reverb from u-he that models thousands of room resonances instead of using the usual delay-network approach.

Protoverb builds its reverb from a physical model of an actual room, simulating thousands of resonances rather than smoothing them out. That gives it a natural build-up that works well on sustained material, though it has fewer shaping controls than a conventional algorithmic reverb. u-he calls it researchware and gives it away with no serial number required.
